This is a complete rebuild kit for 3rd Generation (02-09) Dodge Ram trucks to fix your heater and air conditioner. This kit will replace all 5 doors in the HVAC box with CNC machined solid aluminum replacements. This kit includes a Recirculation Door, 2 Blend Doors, a Panel/Floor Door, a Defroster Door and you will be using the factory rods for the Blend Doors. You can finally permanently fix your heater and your AC doors in your Dodge Ram truck!
This kit will fit 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks. It will also fit 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Dodge Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 trucks as well as the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Sterling Bullet trucks.
The drivers you see in the images are going to be taped in the door with clear tape.
Variations Explained
Single Zone/Dual Zone
The "Single Zone" function is for trucks that control both the driver and passenger side temperature control together. The "Dual Zone" function is factory upgrade that allows the driver and passenger side temperature to be controlled separately. It is not possible to simply install the Dual Zone doors into a Single Zone system in order to upgrade to a Dual Zone system.
Does this truck have rear vents?
There are two selections under this category.
Option 1: No, this truck DOES NOT have rear vents.
This is the option for most people. These drivers fit all trucks that do not have the rear vent system. This includes Single Cab, Quad Cab, and some Mega Cab trucks. This option will replace all of the plastic doors and all plastic drivers with solid aluminum replacements.
Option 2: Yes, this truck DOES have rear vents.
This option is only for a limited number of people. It will ONLY fit Mega Cab trucks that are equipped with the rear vent system. These will be the vents that are in the bottom rear of the center console or center jump seat that are designed for the rear passengers. No Single Cab or Quad cab trucks have the vents and not all Mega Cab trucks have this option. This kit includes a very specific driver for the defroster door, an extra linkage rod, and an aluminum cam gear to control the rear vent control door. Please note: this option will re-use the original plastic rear vent control door that is unique to the rear vent equipped trucks. This door is not directly driven by an electronic actuator and does not seal against any surface in the box. Therefore it has an extremely low failure rate and is not worth the added cost to replace.

It is so stupid that I waited so long to get these doors. I was looking at the Dorman doors, which are less expensive and have metal pivots as well. And, I went as far as ordering the Dormann doors. Well, upon receiving the Dorman doors I quickly realized you MUST cut your HVAC box to get them installed.
First off, don't do that. Don't chop your box all up. Removing the dash from these Dodge Rams is super easy. Secondly, cutting your box to fit the Dorman doors is just opening an entirely different can of worms. Lastly, it is practically impossible to reach all the door locations in the first place. It would genuinely be MORE work trying not to remove the dash just to do the cut method. Not to mention, you really do not know how many doors are broken unless you get the HVAC box out, and then open.
I actually had two additional doors broken, one other cracked, and an actuator not working! Yeah, no kidding. Listen, don't cut your box open. Just spend the hour to remove your dash. And if you're not fat and old like me you could easily have it out in 30 minutes. It, truly, is that easy.
So what about the actual product? I went with the complete 5-piece door kit. And I am glad I did because the other 'surprise' doors. The pictures give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from them. Having said that, they are nicer and better built than what the pictures show.
The pins, are of course, metal and not plastic like OEM. The fit of the pins is pretty much perfect too. Not so tight they may bind, but also no slop causing them to be too loose and ill fitting. The machining looks great as well. I mean, nobody will see them, so who cares what they look like? Well, if they have been machined or turned in such a way they would cause improper functionality, you'd want them to be finished properly. The best thing about the pins (yeah I am just talking about the pivot pins) is the fact they are not attached. They are REMOVABLE! <---- This is key because it means you can actually replace your doors without needing to chop your HVAC box to pieces. It just makes the replacement that much easier.
The doors themselves are top notch also. The fit is exceptional. You might expect a little space here, a tiny gap there, a door being just off of the actual size needed for the space. Come on, my truck is nearly 20 years old, so some variances are to be expected . . . right? NOPE. All of the doors fit beautifully. Not sure what the foam is made from, and it is definitely different than OEM Dodge foam, but it seems as if it will last a LOT longer than the OEM foam lasted. Which, by the way, all of the OEM foam in the entire box was trashed. Another reason to replace all of the doors. I believe they sell foam too; buy some, you'll need it. Oh yeah, the doors are lighter than what I was expecting. So yeah, the construction and craftsmanship of the doors will fill you with confidence.
Enough rambling. Are these doors worth the $335?
To be honest, before I purchased the set, I took some time to think things over. If you are going to go through the trouble of pulling the dash and removing the HVAC box, then you may as well replace everything. I'm talking heater core, evaporator, sensors, motors, ... all the HVAC parts. And $335 for just the doors is a big expense considering there are cheaper options.
After receiving the doors ALL of my concerns went away. You'd be an absolute fool if you were to not purchase these doors. If you're here, then you must have some issue with your HVAC. Listen, do not hesitate buying these doors. Not only are they a humongous improvement over OEM (and a whole lot cheaper than OEM), they are your best option for aftermarket too.
In any review, of any product/service, there is one simple question that can be asked to give all the information needed for purchase decisions - "Would you recommend [Blend Door USA] to friends and family?"
